Introduction

Semantic Web is an active research and development area around the world. In recent years, researchers in China also actively participated in and contributed to the fast advances of Semantic Web technologies. However, Chinese researchers have not formed a strongly connected community yet. Motivated by the fact that more connected communities and more interactions usually lead to more ideas, collaborations, and better research results, we initiated the China Semantic Web Symposium to bring together Chinese semantic web researchers to have face to face discussions and communications. Foreign researchers are also warmly welcomed to the symposium to impact this growing community and track its advances. The format of the symposium consists of invited speaks, presentations, and free discussions.

Call for Participation

Since this is the first China Semantic Web Symposium, we are very open to the topics that can be presented and discussed in the symposium. However, in order to have a more focused and successful face-to-face communication and discussion, the following topics will be especially welcomed:

Presentations and talks on the above or other topics are very welcomed (15 minutes length, PPT or PDF format, preferred in English). We are also happy to hear your suggestions on the topics and format of the symposium. Please submit your presentations, talk abstracts, or any suggestions and ideas to Lei Zhang (lzhangl at cn.ibm.com) and Yue Pan (panyue at cn.ibm.com) no later than Oct.19, 2007.

After presentations and talk abstracts are collected and attendees are confirmed, we will post the program of the symposium.
