July 16-21, 2001, Rome, Italy
For those of you familiar with this annual conference, you will notice
that our usual acronym is missing this year. We were asked not to use
our traditional name in Italy on penalty of law since it is an existing
Italian trademark. Needless to say, the conference will have all the features
you have come to know and love as well as exciting new ones, following
on the success of the prior conferences in this series in Boston, MA
(2000), Seattle, WA (1999), Dallas, TX (1998), Budapest, Hungary
(1997), Rye, NY (1996), and Berkeley, CA (1995). We hope you
will join us in beautiful Rome, Italy this summer.
We are very pleased to announce that the 7th Annual ACM International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking is supported by the Italian President of the Republic and the Comune di Roma." This is a great honor and speaks volumes about the emerging importance of mobile computing in the world economy.
Conference participants need to BRING THEIR OWN 802.11 wireless interface
cards for their LAPTOPS.
can't-miss event for the nascent entrepreneurs among us is planned for
Tuesday afternoon, July 17. Owing to generous corporate support, this
event is now free for conference and tutorial registrants. So please do
plan to attend since it promises to be informative and lively. A brief
description is included below and can also be found on the conference
Dear Prospective Conference Participants,
Paper selection is now complete and a full list of accepted papers can be found here. Our hearty congratulations to the accepted authors -- the competition was exceptionally fierce this year and the program committee had a tremendously difficult task of winnowing out the best papers from a large assortment of excellent papers. We wish we could have included many more but alas, space and time restrictions bound our hands.
For those authors with great papers that were not accepted to The 7th Annual International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking, please note that there are excellent associated workshops. These are also wonderful venues to get your work heard by the best and brightest in mobile computing.
The organizing committee thanks you deeply for your avid participation in this conference (a record 280 submissions this year!) and we hope to see you all at the conference (whose usual acronym we cannot use in Italy)!
At this time we have rooms available at Hotel Parco dei Principi, Hotel Albani and Hotel Paisiello Parioli.
